Dress Code

At our school, we want to be faithful and honorable representatives of Christ in our attire. Dancewear and costumes are carefully selected to meet our standards of modesty.

Guidelines:

  • Leotards and skirts are ordered through the school. We have samples of the dance attire available to try on to determine the correct size to order. You pay for the leotard and skirt when you register for class. The chart below shows the specific details about the leotards and skirts for each class.

  • All students are required to wear pink ballet shoes (see chart below for specific kind) and pink, footed ballet tights. Shoes and tights can be ordered through the school, but can also be purchased on your own. View this document to see where shoes and tights can be purchased.

  • Students must wear their hair in a neat ballet bun if their hair is long enough. This is, in part, for safety so that they can see clearly while dancing. If they have short hair, they must have it in a ponytail if possible.

  • For safety reasons, students are not allowed to wear watches or jewelry, with the exception of stud earrings.

  • Students are not allowed to wear leg warmers during class.

  • Students may wear ballet sweaters over their leotards. These can be purchased at a local dance store, an online dance supply retailer, or ordered through the school. Sweatshirts, jackets, and sweaters that have hoods or zippers may not be worn during class.
